Some end of summer highlights

We’ve had a lovely summer this year, with Owen really beginning to interact with his new environments. We took him to lots of events and it was such fun to see how he explored his surroundings and enjoyed his new found freedom (although he still can’t outrun me!)

Raspberry Pickin’

We took Owen to the Sawtooth Botanical Garden to pick some raspberries – a trip he took to enthusiastically, actually getting into the spirit or picking (and eating!) the juicy little fruits. I shamelessly exploited him in the newspaper the following Friday (I was covering for someone), using a picture of him to illustrate a little story I wrote on the enjoying the fruits of summer. See it here.

Standing With Bowe

As President of our Wood River Fire & Rescue Firefighters’ Association, I was called on to help organize a BBQ for over 400 motorcycle riders from the POW/MIA organizations around Idaho. They were riding into Hailey to show their support for Private Bowe Bergdhal who has been held captive by the Taliban since June. We were given about 3 days notice to pull this off, and Justin and Brian stepped up to the plate, pulling off a great event – even though the weather didn’t cooperate!

Beautiful Babies!

My lovely cousin, Aimee, and her hubby, Hill, gave birth to two beautiful girls last week – Margaret Elliot and Elizabeth Reynolds.
