Labor Day Weekend Ups and Downs
After a fun filled trip to Oregon, we were lucky to have a three day weekend right on its heels. Here in Sun Valley Labor Day weekend is all about the Wagon Days parade. The largest non-motorized parade in the U.S.A., it’s a pretty impressive line-up of antique carts, wagons and other things on wooden wheels. We met up with Pete and his parents, Kate and Jeff to enjoy the day together. Although the sleepy boys took a while to get into the spirit of things!
Grumpy babies
Kate & Pete, Jeff, Brian & Owen watch the countless horses and buggys go by.
Now he's getting into it!
The big finale, the Ore Wagons - "The best preserved ore wagons in the country, the Wagon Days Big Hitch, is powered by an authentic jerkline. The jerkline runs the length of the team to the mule skinner, who sits atop the left wheel mule (the mule closest to the wheel)."
Unfortunately the day ended on a sour note (literally), as Owen threw-up all over the car on the way home, and today (Monday) his is still really poorly. Hopefully he’ll rally in time to hang out with the Grandparents in Fallon this weekend.
